Playing Catch-Up With TV As Usual!

Playing Catch-Up With TV As Usual!

As always I keep falling behind, but I’m finally getting a handle on things. I hope to be posting more often! Until then, here are my collective thoughts on a lot of shows.

“American Horror Story” continues to baffle me. I’m convinced that John is the 10 Commandments Killer, he just doesn’t realize it yet. This is what the Halloween dinner was all about, trying to make him accept who he is. I still am baffled by Lady Gaga’s character, and hope we soon find out who turned her. What was with her weird baby Bartholomew? Gross! John’s wife I could care less about and wish they’d kill her and her awful creepy vampire child off. This week made me feel so bad for poor Liz Taylor though. The Countess is truly horrible, and it looks like everyone is about to turn on her and take her out.

鼎宝福彩“Gotham” is still keeping my attention, though I cannot figure out Jim and Barbara. We know he has a daughter named Barbara, but I can’t for the life of me understand why he’d want to name his daughter after that nut job? I am looking forward to Galavan being taken down. However this show isn’t doing it for me as much as some other superhero shows are, mainly because there are no real superheroes or villains on it, just normal nasty people.

鼎宝福彩“Grey’s Anatomy” has continued to surprise me with the Post-Derek storylines. I actually felt sorry for the Doctor that accidentally caused his death over the past few weeks, but Amelia is on my last nerve. She needs to change her attitude and relocate. I am definitely interested in what happened between Owen and the new doc in the past, as Owen seems to be suffering some severe PTSD that has been sparked by this guy.

I still am having a hard time making headway with “Heroes Reborn.” I’ve watched a few more episodes, I just doesn’t seem to be invested in it as I was the original series. I think with so few of the originals back in a large way, it’s hard to care.

鼎宝福彩I’m almost done with season one of “How To Get Away With Murder,” just in time to catch up with Season 2 as the Winter finale is upon us.

鼎宝福彩“Nashville” still remains one of my favorite shows to watch. I absolutely cannot believe they killed off Jeff Fordham though. He was a jerk, but he was a great character. Who are we supposed to hate now? Jeff’s gone, Teddy’s in jail, and Lamar is dead. There has to be a villain. I feel that Scarlett’s man is going to go off the deep-end in order to hold onto her and will be the next evil guy on the show.

I am still loving “Once Upon A Time,” and am convinced Emma is not as evil as everyone thinks but has a plan to help them all. Tonight is the two part winter finale, so I guess we will find out. I can’t wait to see Arthur go down, and then there is the Wicked Witch who still needs to be dealt with. If Emma can’t get rid of The Dark One for good then I could the witch becoming the next one.

鼎宝福彩We seem to be getting closer to the truth on “Scream Queens,” and it appears there may have been two babies born that night long ago, not one. It doesn’t look like Grace is either of the babies. We know Nick Jonas is one of the devil killer’s, and that Grace’s dad’s girlfriend is the ring leader of the two red devils. I think Lea Michelle’s Channel is going to turn out to be the other killer/devil.

“Supergirl” is excellent if you have not checked it out. So far I’m very impressed all around with the stories, the acting, and even the visuals. Excellent show and I hope it keeps it up.

鼎宝福彩Likewise I’m really enjoying “The Flash” as well still. Having Barry end up paralyzed is an interesting twist, and we still don’t know who Zoom is. At first I thought it may be alternate Barry, but now I think it’s his dad in the alternate universe.

鼎宝福彩As always I keep meaning to post more, I’ve just been stressed, overworked, and have some personal issues going on. But let’s get to some quick thoughts on TV!

“American Horror Story” is so bizarre, but I love it. I just can’t figure half of it out, but each show reveals just a little bit more. I wish we’d get more focus on the Ten Commandments killer, and it looks like we may with the upcoming Halloween episodes.

鼎宝福彩I’m still enjoying “Castle,” I just don’t know how much longer the show can go on. The mysteries are still fresh, but the Rick and Kate drama is getting old.

鼎宝福彩I’m so glad Paula went home on “DWTS.” That Vogue routine was the worst! She just stood there and waved a fan. WTF?

鼎宝福彩“Gotham” is getting really good with the war between the Galavan family and the Waynes, and their history having been explained. Very interesting! I also can’t wait for “Supergirl” which begins tomorrow.

I like that they brought in Derek’s “killer” on “Grey’s Anatomy.” This should be really interesting. I’m glad Meredith told Amelia off. I always liked the character until recently when she became all about herself. Me me me! Thank you Meredith for telling her to shut the hell up as she wasn’t the only one who lost Derek.

Honestly I have not watched anymore of “Heroes Reborn” since the 2 hour pilot. It was slow and bored me. I have the episodes on my DVR to play catch-up on still.

I’m so loving “Nashville.” It’s one of the top shows I look forward to every week. I loved Rayna and Layla bonding this past week. Jeff needs to go! He is a sleaze! I’m glad to see him on the show more and that he hasn’t left due to “Scream Queens.” Juliette is about to take a leave of absence from the show, and it seems they are setting her up to go to the crazy house for a bit. She definitely needs to get some help. I still want more focus on Will.

“Once Upon A Time” has been amazing this season. I love the twist that Arthur is evil. As I write this I haven’t watched tonight’s episode, but will shortly.

鼎宝福彩“Scream Queens” is amazing as always. It seems the one older returned Kappa Kappa Kappa member is one of the killers, but who is the other she is working with? Why do I feel she has a connection to the woman who died giving birth to Grace, and is that woman is Grace’s mother? Abigail Breslin’s “Chanel” mentioned she was a legacy and had to be taken in, so I’m thinking she’s connected to the dead mother via her own mother.

“Sleepy Hollow” has been enjoyable, but I’m starting to wonder if we are going to have a new main villain every season from here on out given this whole trial of the witnesses.

鼎宝福彩“The Flash” has been great, and I love the addition of Teddy Sears as alternate Earth Flash. Can we keep him around, as he is so good looking! It looks like from the previews that Firestorm is going to be reborn, but I want the original actor back in the role of Ronnie Raymond! It seems the actor moved on to the new “X-Files” though and had to be recast, or in this case killed and the character re-worked. Boo!

Mid-Week Thoughts: Fall Week 3 – Horror Story and More!

Mid-Week Thoughts: Fall Week 3 – Horror Story and More!

鼎宝福彩 Posted by Dustin on 10.08.2015 at 6:53 pm

“American Horror Story Hotel” finally made its debut last night. For most of it I sat there thinking “What in the hell is going on?” It was stunningly beautiful, but confusing as hell. The last fifteen minutes really pulled almost everything together. Gaga and Boomer are vampires, living in the hotel, with a bunch of other freaks basically. I haven’t figured out Sarah Paulson’s character Sally yet. She was definitely killed by Kathy Bates, because Sally lured her son (Boomer) to the hotel and he overdosed on her drugs. For revenge she pushed Sally out a window, but then Gaga appeared and made Boomer her vampire lover. However Sally is still around. Is she a ghost? A vampire too? Or is she part of this weird butt-raping Addiction Demon? Of course Wes Bentley’s missing kid is also in the hotel, one of these weird vampire children of Gaga’s?

I’m still loving “Scream Queens,” mainly because of the insanely un-PC things said on it by Chanel. However I like the mystery involving the Red Devil’s identity and how it connects with the baby born 20 years ago in the Kappa house. I adored Lea Michelle this week, who played a character the complete opposite of Rachel Berry.

鼎宝福彩“Gotham” has been great, but I’m so bummed they killed the Joker figure. What the hell! He was the best thing going for this new season, and now he’s dead.

鼎宝福彩“The Flash” returned and introduced this season’s new villain pretty quickly in Zoom, another speedster nemesis of Barry Allen’s. I’m annoyed that they killed half of Firestar, but given he’s supposed to be part of a new spinoff show, I don’t think Ronny is as dead as we’ve been lead to believe.

“Once” was again good this week. I am dying to know what happened in Camelot that seems to have turned Emma against everyone and forced her to embrace her dark side. I’m loving seeing Regina get to finally be the hero, and the Charmings standing by her.

I finally started “Heroes Reborn” and so far am finding it a tad slow. I’m not yet sure where it’s going, and I have yet to reach the point of Hiro and Parkman’s introduction back into the show. I’m peeved that they killed Claire! I know she’s on another show, but totally un-necessary!

鼎宝福彩Speaking of Claire, over on “Nashville” her new alter-ego Juliette continues to spiral totally out of control. I love that Avery is finally ditching her. I kept worrying something might happen between Luke and Juliette, but fortunately it didn’t. It seems Teddy is in fact going to be off the show for awhile as he gets himself redeemed in prison. Watching Scarlet have to take her mom of life support was heartbreaking, but I’m so happy it was Gunnar she turned to. She needs to ditch the boring doc and get back with Gunnar.

Fall 2015 Weekly Update: Week 2ish . . .

Fall 2015 Weekly Update: Week 2ish . . .

Posted by Dustin on 10.04.2015 at 5:37 pm

So this is another week-of-shows-in-one post. I’ve been very busy lately, and hope to eventually get back to more individualistic show-by-show posts, but this is the easiest way for me to do this right now and not fall behind. Oh, and I’m already behind! I still haven’t caught up on “Heroes Reborn,” and I’m 2/3 of the way through season one of “How To Get Away With Murder.” For those asking about “Scandal,” I kept trying to like that show but never got into it. Maybe next summer I’ll binge watch it!

鼎宝福彩This week “American Horror Story: Hotel” debuts, along with the return of “Grim.” I’m looking forward to both!

I never commented on the end of “Big Brother 17” or “Under the Dome,” because frankly both sucked. I actually stopped watching “Big Brother,” worst season and cast ever! As for “Under The Dome,” just what the hell? Clearly they were still hopeful for another season, but given the whole alien invasion crap, I don’t know why. What a way to blow what was a good show.

Onto “Castle,” I’m glad they quickly resolved this secret agent Beckett storyline, but with her as Captain now I wonder how involved she will be with the day to day cases. It will definitely be interesting to see where they go with things this season.

“Gotham” has been getting better and better. I love the villains, and am wondering what or who Barbara will become. It almost seems they are setting her up to be Harley Quinn. I love that they’ve brought Lucious Fox in to help Bruce become Batman, along with Alfred.

“Grey’s” was just okay this week. I like seeing more of Miranda, but I just don’t know where they will take things this year. Amelia and Owen are great, but they aren’t the new MerDer. I also am glad that Jackson is not just taking April back after the crap she’s been pulling.

鼎宝福彩I have to wonder how long before Rayna signs her kids to her label on “Nashville,” as it seems they could help save it for her. Watching Juliette spiral out of control is terribly fun, and I can’t believe Luke dropped Will like that. For shame!

鼎宝福彩I really enjoyed the season premiere of “Once,” especially the reversal of roles with Emma and Regina. However, another fricken missing time/memories curse? Come on! There are only so many times that stuff can be done.

I have been watching “Project Runway,” I just had forgotten to comment on it. Its pretty obvious Edmund, Ashley and Candice will be the final three, unless something insane happens.

“Scream Queens” is still my favorite show of the season so far, likely because of the newness of it. I loved the transformation of Leah Michelle’s character into Channel #6. I still am lost on who the killer is, other than it seems there are two, and Nick Jonas character is working with the original.

“Sleepy Hollow” returned this week, and I for one am glad the Henry/Katrina arch has ended. That was becoming tedious, and frankly standing in the way of any romance between Ichabod and Mills. Though that won’t happen soon, as it’s usually the death of these types of shows. I do like that they’ve been able to craft a whole new storyline for them as witnesses.

鼎宝福彩 Posted by Dustin on 09.27.2015 at 4:54 pm

鼎宝福彩So we’ve made it through the first week of the Fall 2015 season. A lot still hasn’t returned and won’t until October. I’m very excited about “Once Upon A Time’s” return tonight, and after it am hoping to finally make it through “Heroes Reborn,” which is still on my DVD. I’m also still making my way through Season 1 of “How To Get Away With Murder” in order to keep up with Season 2 this year.

“Castle” was the first real show that I watch that returned, and I don’t know what to think. It seems the story with Beckett being hunted, and acting all spy-like, is just a rehash of Castle’s missing time last season in a way. There has also been a lot of speculation that the show plans to break up the newly weds, which would suck if that is true.

“Gotham” also returned. I enjoyed the first episode a lot, mainly because the show is moving more into “Batman” territory. Bruce has found the bat cave, and a league of super villains is being formed. I wasn’t a huge fan of last years mob-centric stories and was getting a little bored with it.

鼎宝福彩I was surprised how much I liked the “Grey’s” season premier. I thought it would be so different without McDreamy, and it still is, but I really love Meredith and Maggie’s friendship and seeing that blossom. Yay for Bailey being named the new Chief, but the previews for next week seem to have “The Nazi” returning.

I was so glad that “Nashville” did not kill off Deacon. Teddy is definitely in jail, but for how long? Will he turn over Tandy and ruin Rayna’s company, which already seems to be crashing into the ground as is? I feel so bad for Rayna, but once again am hating Juliette. Obviously she’s headed for a huge Scarlett-like meltdown. Scarlett is annoying me too by trying to make her relationship with that doctor work when it’s clear she wants Gunnar. I’m also enjoying Will trying to figure out where he belongs.

For some odd reason I’ve been throwing on “DWTS,” probably just to see the craziness that was Gary Busey. Has anyone noticed how Paula Dean is ALWAYS in the background shots smiling and waving at the camera? I mean she is ALWAYS there!

“Scream Queens” was absolutely amazing! It would seem that the Red Devil killer was likely the baby of the dead sorority girl in the 80s now all grown up, but then they’ve thrown the wrench in there that the baby may be Grace, so she can’t be the killer unless she’s nuts. I loved the twist with Nick Jonas’ character at the end, and of course the “Heathers” reference with all the Chanelles. How weird is it seeing Jeff from “Nashville” on there and not playing a total douche? It looks like he will appear on next week’s “Nashville” only to bow out of the show due to “Scream Queen.”

In other news, both “Mistresses” and “Devious Maids” have earned a 4th season! So happy!

A Smorgasbord of Finale Thoughts.

A Smorgasbord of Finale Thoughts.

Posted by Dustin on 06.03.2015 at 11:48 am

So I fell way behind with my blog this past year, mainly due to an increase in my hours working. I’m going to try and get back into the routine this summer and not lose it when the fall comes back around! This post is to give my quick thoughts on many of the finales for the shows I watch. It’s been awhile for some, so I’m doing my best to recall what happened.

Grey’s Anatomy
I’m still furious that they killed of McDreamy, but at least Meredith, her sister and Amelia all ended up in a good place with one another by the end of the season. Meredith moving back to her old house was a great idea too. As for Jackson and April, I hope they work things out.

Grimmm
I’m stunned they actually killed off Juliette, but was glad the did so as she became a real witch. It seems she really is dead, or the show really wants us to believe that for now. Her death also opens up the possibility of something between Adalind and Nick. I am confused as to if Adalind has lost her powers again though. Meanwhile that weird organization seems to be after Truble, but I can’t help but worry she’s already working with them and called them in.

Nashville
鼎宝福彩 It looks like Deacon’s sister Bev is a goner, as I refuse to believe they will kill Deacon off the show. The arrest of Teddy was shocking, though not as shocking as the fact that Tandy was the real mastermind behind many of her father’s dirty dealings. I wonder if this means she’ll return next year? I loved that Will finally came out of the closet. It’s about time! Juliette’s story was heartbreaking, and I can’t believe that witch betrayed Rayna by going to Jeff.

Sleepy Hollow
The death of Ichabod’s wife Katrina was just as fulfilling as Juliette on Grimm. What’s with these good girls gone bad? Jeremy also got his it would seem, after taking out Molloch. I’m not sure who there is to be the next big bad now? Old headless?

Gotham
I watched “Gotham” this season, but honestly near the end of the season started to lose interest. The final few shows with the discovery of the batcave and the bloodbath amongst the mobsters was really good though.

The Flash
鼎宝福彩 “The Flash” was probably my favorite new show all year, and one of my favorites period. I loved the characters, and the villains, and cannot wait for it to return. Given they killed erased Wells from history, well his imposter, I can’t help but wonder what repercussions throughout time that will create. There basically should be no Flash right now, as Well’s created him! This is a possible way to bring back the real Wells if they want to though.

The Returned & Bates Motel
鼎宝福彩 I completely lost interest in these two A&E shows. I do want to try and finish “The Returned” at some point this summer, as well as watch the original French version. I did see the final few episodes of “Bates,” especially after hearing about the pivotal final scene.

Renewals And Cancellations . . . Plus Summer Shows!

Renewals And Cancellations . . . Plus Summer Shows!

Posted by Dustin on 05.08.2015 at 9:51 am

With the end of the season upon us, lots of shows are being canned or renewed. ABC has put the nail in the coffin for “Resurrection,” so we will never get answers to that one.

鼎宝福彩“Castle,” “Nashville,” “Once Upon A Time,” “Secrets and Lies” and everything Shonda Rhimes does is coming back.

鼎宝福彩If you were fan of “Forever,” it’s gone forever sadly.

I’m really glad about “Nashville,” we knew “Once” was coming back, and am surprised about “Secrets and Lies.” I don’t know where they will take it. Will Abby kill again?

This summer I’m looking forward to the return of “Mistresses” and plan to give “The Whisperers” a shot, though ABC horror shows never seem to go over well. They are great, but always last one season. Speaking of horror, I’m looking forward to “Under The Dome” returning as well.

鼎宝福彩So this is a long overdue post on “Nashville,” which has been on fire lately. I’m loving it, yet want to strangle several of the characters at the same time. Below are my quick thoughts on each major storyline, followed by spoilers for the next several episodes.

I’m loving Deacon and Rayna’s reunion, but hate this storyline with him dying. I keep hoping his mother will change her mind, but something tells me she won’t. She’s either going to have to die herself and will him her liver, or perhaps Maddie is a match as they haven’t tested her. Someone has to save Deacon!

The show really tried to reform Teddy, and I have really started liking him as of late. That’s why I hate seeing him turn into Lamar 2.0 in order to fix the problems he got into with his prostitute girlfriend. I really don’t trust her at all, she’s demanding too much money and seems to be afraid of something or someone bigger than what we know. Teddy is going to end up falling hard and soon.

I’m actually sad to see Sadie head back home to Virginia. I really liked her character, but I didn’t like how they had her and Luke getting a little too close too quickly. That wasn’t a cool thing to do to Rayna at all. I do hope they bring her back at some point though.

Poor Layla can’t get a break when it comes to love, with Jeff screwing her more than one way. I’m totally on her team, and love seeing Jeff down and out. He deserves it! Meanwhile I wish they’d just finally have Will come out of the closet. That storyline has dragged on for too long.

I’m so glad that Juliette finally had her baby, as maybe now she can stop being so over the top crazy. Juliette’s always been a little nutty, but lately it’s been too much. I want to see her back working on her music.

鼎宝福彩Scarlett and Gunnar are both driving me nuts with their on-again-off-again romance. Figure it out kids!

Spoilers for the next three shows below.

Winter Finale Smorgasbord Post.

Winter Finale Smorgasbord Post.

Posted by Dustin on 01.03.2015 at 1:34 am

So this is my very overdue post on my quick thoughts on bunches of shows and their Winter finales. Between work and getting sick and then the holidays I just didn’t get to it as soon as I had planned to. Of note I’m heading out on my January vacation. Not too many shows are coming back yet though, but some are. “Pretty Little Liars” is starting up again, as is “American Horror Story,” and ABC is airing “Galavant.” The later I’m worried about since they turned an 8 week series into a 4 week one to just get it over with quicker. Yeah that probably isn’t a good sign.

American Horror Story
鼎宝福彩 I’m just really disappointed with this show overall this season. As I said before, it really has just become nothing more that a shock-fest at this point. It’s hard to care about most of these characters, and the ones you do care for like Ma Petite get offed. I seriously can’t believe they killed her! However even the emotion I felt for her death can’t really save this season.

Constantine
I really enjoy this show and the episode with the fallen angel they had to save was the best of the season because of the twist within. I seriously hope NBC doesn’t cancel this one.

Gotham
鼎宝福彩 This show still has my interest, though I really want an injection of some kind of masked villain or hero at this point. I feel like they aren’t using kid catwoman enough either.

Grey’s Anatomy
Once again Shonda has resorted to causing problems for Meredith and Derek. This far into the show I feel like that is just lazy writing she’s falling back on. We’ve watched too many seasons of that, just let them be happy and deal with other issues. I would also like to see Owen finally get a bit of happiness too. He’s just seemed so angry since Christina left.

Grimm
Grimm is probably my favorite show right now, it is really delivering every week. It looks like Nick’s mom may be making a return with the baby in the second half of the season. I’d really like to see Truble back at some point too. Poor Woo has gone off his rocker though, and who can blame him. Nick should have told him the truth long ago. OF course we know Monroe won’t be dying anytime soon, but what’s going on with poor Julia? Has she really become a hexenbeast?

The Flash
I’m officially adding “The Flash” to the blog. I think this is one of the best new shows of the year. I absolutely loved seeing Dr. Tina McGee reprise her role from the 90s version. I also can’t wait to see how they pull of Firestar, who is one of my favorite DC characters next to Wonder Woman. News has also dropped that Mark Hammill will reprise his role as The Trixter which he too played in the old 90s version. I just hope he doesn’t have that horrid spandex body suit.

Nashville
That mid-season finale was definitely one with some twists and turns I was not expecting. I kinda knew Rayna wouldn’t go through with the wedding, but I never saw an Avery and Juliette wedding that quick. Surprise! I’m also stunned at Deacon’s health issues, I wasn’t expecting those either. Meanwhile Jeff is up S-creek as it looks like Layla may be the latest casualty on the show. Would they really kill her off? Would anyone really care if they did might be a better question. Like Zoe she’s started to outlive her purpose.

Once Upon A Time
So it looks like we haven’t gotten rid of Anna and Elsa just yet, as they seem to now be stuck in Storybrooke with the others. I hope they don’t keep them around simply to keep cashing in on “Frozen.” The rise of the three bad girls looks to be good, and I love me some Maleficent! I loved Belle one-uping Rumple and commanding him to leave town with the dagger. Having to watch Robin leave to save Marianne was heartbreaking though. Poor Regina! At least they are back to looking for the book’s writer, but now Gold has that idea too. Oh boy.

Red Band Society
Red Band left us with a string of cliffhangers, and it looks like we may finally be facing the death of one of the kids. Hunter headed into surgery, Emma passed out at her house, and Jordi is now a drug dealer? Oy! I could do without Jordi’s illegal activities honestly.

Sleepy Hollow
Henry/Walter finally saw the light and turned on Mollock in what was a “effing finally!” moment. I was getting so sick of Henry’s bitching and moaning about his parents abandoning him. I really hope this doesn’t turn out to be a ploy though and he still ends up on the side of evil.

Nashville’s Ruke Thoughts, Plus Spoilers!

Nashville’s Ruke Thoughts, Plus Spoilers!

鼎宝福彩 Posted by Dustin on 11.19.2014 at 6:21 pm

鼎宝福彩So “Ruke,” aka Rayna and Luke, seem to be on path to giant explosion on “Nashville.” Luke does not like how little he is seeing of his bride to be, though I can’t help but remember he was the one that told her she had to play these publicity games. It seems his advice only applies to him and not his little woman. Luke is loosing my vote and making me wish Rayna had picked Deacon!

鼎宝福彩I was actually shocked that Gunnar’s ex took off and dumped him with their kid. I really thought she’d stick around and fight for him, since it seems she’s been on the hunt for a good guy. It seems what she really wanted was a bad boy and a kid free life. I was actually hoping she’d knock Zoey out on her butt, as that girl annoys me. Something tells me though she won’t like having to play mommy at all and will dump Gunnar soon enough.

I’ve been feeling sorry for Juliette lately, which I usually hate. I have a bad feeling that she’s going to feel neglected by Rayna and jump ship back to Jeff’s label, which would be a huge mistake.

I wish Will would just come the hell out of the closet and be done with it already! They are dragging that one out way too long.

Spoilers for the next two episodes below!
