Catching up on Fall TV . . .

Catching up on Fall TV . . .

As always I keep meaning to post more, I’ve just been stressed, overworked, and have some personal issues going on. But let’s get to some quick thoughts on TV!

“American Horror Story” is so bizarre, but I love it. I just can’t figure half of it out, but each show reveals just a little bit more. I wish we’d get more focus on the Ten Commandments killer, and it looks like we may with the upcoming Halloween episodes.

鼎宝福彩I’m still enjoying “Castle,” I just don’t know how much longer the show can go on. The mysteries are still fresh, but the Rick and Kate drama is getting old.

鼎宝福彩I’m so glad Paula went home on “DWTS.” That Vogue routine was the worst! She just stood there and waved a fan. WTF?

“Gotham” is getting really good with the war between the Galavan family and the Waynes, and their history having been explained. Very interesting! I also can’t wait for “Supergirl” which begins tomorrow.

I like that they brought in Derek’s “killer” on “Grey’s Anatomy.” This should be really interesting. I’m glad Meredith told Amelia off. I always liked the character until recently when she became all about herself. Me me me! Thank you Meredith for telling her to shut the hell up as she wasn’t the only one who lost Derek.

Honestly I have not watched anymore of “Heroes Reborn” since the 2 hour pilot. It was slow and bored me. I have the episodes on my DVR to play catch-up on still.

I’m so loving “Nashville.” It’s one of the top shows I look forward to every week. I loved Rayna and Layla bonding this past week. Jeff needs to go! He is a sleaze! I’m glad to see him on the show more and that he hasn’t left due to “Scream Queens.” Juliette is about to take a leave of absence from the show, and it seems they are setting her up to go to the crazy house for a bit. She definitely needs to get some help. I still want more focus on Will.

“Once Upon A Time” has been amazing this season. I love the twist that Arthur is evil. As I write this I haven’t watched tonight’s episode, but will shortly.

鼎宝福彩“Scream Queens” is amazing as always. It seems the one older returned Kappa Kappa Kappa member is one of the killers, but who is the other she is working with? Why do I feel she has a connection to the woman who died giving birth to Grace, and is that woman is Grace’s mother? Abigail Breslin’s “Chanel” mentioned she was a legacy and had to be taken in, so I’m thinking she’s connected to the dead mother via her own mother.

“Sleepy Hollow” has been enjoyable, but I’m starting to wonder if we are going to have a new main villain every season from here on out given this whole trial of the witnesses.

鼎宝福彩“The Flash” has been great, and I love the addition of Teddy Sears as alternate Earth Flash. Can we keep him around, as he is so good looking! It looks like from the previews that Firestorm is going to be reborn, but I want the original actor back in the role of Ronnie Raymond! It seems the actor moved on to the new “X-Files” though and had to be recast, or in this case killed and the character re-worked. Boo!

鼎宝福彩So we’ve made it through the first week of the Fall 2015 season. A lot still hasn’t returned and won’t until October. I’m very excited about “Once Upon A Time’s” return tonight, and after it am hoping to finally make it through “Heroes Reborn,” which is still on my DVD. I’m also still making my way through Season 1 of “How To Get Away With Murder” in order to keep up with Season 2 this year.

鼎宝福彩“Castle” was the first real show that I watch that returned, and I don’t know what to think. It seems the story with Beckett being hunted, and acting all spy-like, is just a rehash of Castle’s missing time last season in a way. There has also been a lot of speculation that the show plans to break up the newly weds, which would suck if that is true.

“Gotham” also returned. I enjoyed the first episode a lot, mainly because the show is moving more into “Batman” territory. Bruce has found the bat cave, and a league of super villains is being formed. I wasn’t a huge fan of last years mob-centric stories and was getting a little bored with it.

鼎宝福彩I was surprised how much I liked the “Grey’s” season premier. I thought it would be so different without McDreamy, and it still is, but I really love Meredith and Maggie’s friendship and seeing that blossom. Yay for Bailey being named the new Chief, but the previews for next week seem to have “The Nazi” returning.

I was so glad that “Nashville” did not kill off Deacon. Teddy is definitely in jail, but for how long? Will he turn over Tandy and ruin Rayna’s company, which already seems to be crashing into the ground as is? I feel so bad for Rayna, but once again am hating Juliette. Obviously she’s headed for a huge Scarlett-like meltdown. Scarlett is annoying me too by trying to make her relationship with that doctor work when it’s clear she wants Gunnar. I’m also enjoying Will trying to figure out where he belongs.

鼎宝福彩For some odd reason I’ve been throwing on “DWTS,” probably just to see the craziness that was Gary Busey. Has anyone noticed how Paula Dean is ALWAYS in the background shots smiling and waving at the camera? I mean she is ALWAYS there!

鼎宝福彩“Scream Queens” was absolutely amazing! It would seem that the Red Devil killer was likely the baby of the dead sorority girl in the 80s now all grown up, but then they’ve thrown the wrench in there that the baby may be Grace, so she can’t be the killer unless she’s nuts. I loved the twist with Nick Jonas’ character at the end, and of course the “Heathers” reference with all the Chanelles. How weird is it seeing Jeff from “Nashville” on there and not playing a total douche? It looks like he will appear on next week’s “Nashville” only to bow out of the show due to “Scream Queen.”

In other news, both “Mistresses” and “Devious Maids” have earned a 4th season! So happy!

Dancing With The Stars Season 18 Line-Up

鼎宝福彩 Posted by Dustin on 03.04.2014 at 2:09 pm

In spite of the nasty shake-up behind scenes with the co-host swap, this line-up and the return of Maks makes me more likely to tune in than the last few seasons. Oh and the fact I am not working Monday nights for a change! Of course I do have WAY too much on Monday night’s as is, so I’ll only see the first hour.

Season 18 To Shake Up The Competition With Dramatic New Twist “The Switch Up”

The Stellar New Cast Will Take to the Stage When “Dancing with the Stars” Premieres, Monday, March 17 on ABC

This season’s dynamic lineup of stars — including two Olympic Gold Medalists, a game show host, a swimming legend and a teen pop star – will perform for the first time on live national television with their professional partners during the two-hour season premiere of “Dancing with the Stars,” MONDAY, MARCH 17 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

In a first for “Dancing with the Stars,” the competition will feature a new game changing twist called “The Switch Up.” This season, America will be given the power to vote and change celebrities and professional dance pairings. This new rule will affect all couples as they will be required to switch partners at a point in the season. Never before have dance partnerships been split up during the course of competition.

鼎宝福彩As announced this morning on ABC’s “Good Morning America” by “Dancing with the Stars” hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews, the 12 celebrities with their professional partners heading to the dance floor this season (in alphabetical order) are:

SEAN AVERY — Former pro hockey player Sean Avery is known for his unpredictable antics on the ice and a humorous personality. During his twelve year hockey career, he played left wing for the Detroit Red Wings, Los Angeles Kings, Dallas Stars, and the New York Rangers. Typically known as his team’s “enforcer,” Avery had a reputation as an outspoken agitator on (and sometimes off) the ice. Controversy followed him wherever he played, and he became known as much for his mercurial style of play as for his eclectic interests. These interests led Avery to many unique experiences including an internship at Vogue Magazine, working under the famed Anna Wintour and André Leon Talley. He has been featured in numerous ad campaigns as a model, including 7 For All Mankind and is currently the Luxury Advertising Director at Playboy. Also an activist, Avery is on the Board of Directors of Athlete Ally, a nonprofit raising awareness about homophobia and transphobia in sports. SEAN AVERY partners with KARINA SMIRNOFF.

CANDACE CAMERON BURE — Actress, producer, New York Times bestselling author and inspirational speaker, Candace Cameron Bure is both outspoken and passionate about her family and faith. Known to millions worldwide from her role as D.J. Tanner on the iconic family sitcom “Full House,” Cameron Bure continues to flourish in the entertainment industry as role model to women of all ages. With an acting career that started at the age of five, Cameron Bure grew up in show business alongside her brother Kirk Cameron and has appeared in countless national television commercials, prime-time hits, TV movies and feature films. Mostly recently, Cameron Bure starred in the Hallmark Original Movie “Let It Snow.” In addition, she starred on ABC Family’s hugely popular show “Make It Or Break It” in a three year run as Summer Van Horn. Cameron Bure added bestselling author to her many titles with her book Reshaping It All: Motivation for Physical and Spiritual Fitness, inspiring women to embrace a healthier lifestyle by moving faith to the forefront of their relationship with food. Her second book, Balancing It All, shares her story of successfully balancing different roles and responsibilities including motherhood, work, and Hollywood. Cameron Bure and her husband, former NHL star Val Bure, have been happily married since 1996. Together with their 3 children, Natasha, Lev and Maks, they split their time between Los Angeles and Napa Valley, California which is home to their boutique wine label, Bure Family Wines. CANDACE CAMERON BURE partners with MARK BALLAS.

鼎宝福彩DREW CAREY — Drew Carey is a stand-up comic turned actor and producer who had the distinction of having two hit shows simultaneously: the long-running comedy “The Drew Carey Show,” which ran from 1995-2004 and the improv/sketch show “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” on which he was host and a producer. The success of that show led to the creation of “Drew Carey’s Improv All-Stars,” an improv troupe that performs in showrooms across the country. In July 2007, he was named the host of “The Price Is Right,” succeeding longtime host Bob Barker. He began his successful career as a comedian in April of 1986 at the Cleveland Comedy Club. In 1988, one of his first big breaks was competing on “Star Search.” In 1991, Carey landed a spot on HBO’s “14th Annual Young Comedians Special” and appeared on “The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.” Carey landed his own television development deal with Disney, which led to an opportunity for him to co-star in the series “The Good Life.” He also had the opportunity to work with Bruce Helford, who was a consulting writer on the series and hired him as a staff writer for “The Gaby Hoffman Show.” Their experience led the two of them to decide to co-create a series for Carey. He went on to star in his own comedy special for Showtime, “Drew Carey: Human Cartoon” and performed in Showtime’s “Tenth Anniversary of the Montreal Comedy Festival.” Carey was born in Cleveland, Ohio and currently resides in Los Angeles. DREW CAREY partners with CHERYL BURKE.

MERYL DAVIS — Paired in 1997, Meryl Davis, 27, and her partner Charlie White, 26, are the longest-running ice dancing partnership in the history of United States figure skating. As a child, Davis wished to glide atop the frozen surface of the Michigan Lake adjacent to her home, so learning to ice skate at the age of five was a natural choice. They are 2014 Olympic Gold Medalists, 2010 Olympic Silver Medalists and 2011 & 2013 World Champions. Davis and White are also six-time (2009-2014) U.S. Champions, and five-time (2001-2013) Grand Prix Final Champions. Led by one of the most successful coaching teams in the world, she and White have steadily climbed the ranks of the U.S. and international ice dancing world. In 2006, they made their senior debut on the Grand Prix Series. They dominated the international skating scene this season, standing atop the podium at all six competitions they entered. By winning the 2013 World Championships, the team made figure skating history, becoming the only U.S. ice dancing team to ever win two World titles. The second title cemented their place in figure skating history and positioned them as the team to beat at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia. When not on the ice Davis enjoys reading, traveling and learning about other cultures. She is currently a student at the University of Michigan. MERYL DAVIS partners with MAKSIM CHMERKOVSKIY.

NENE LEAKES — NeNe Leakes shot to stardom as a fan favorite on Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Atlanta.” Her popularity as a housewife led to her own Bravo television series “I Dream of Nene: The Wedding.” In 2012, she was cast as coach Roz Washington on “Glee” and later that year landed a starring role on NBC’s sitcom “The New Normal.” Leakes has also guest-starred in BET comedies, “The Game” and “Let’s Stay Together.” She was voted as one of Entertainment Weekly’s Entertainers of the Year and was the recipient of Bravo’s A-list Award for Fan Favorite. She is the author of Never Make the Same Mistake Twice, discussing her fractured childhood, abusive relationship and struggles with being a single mother. Currently, Leakes resides in Duluth, Ga., a suburb of Atlanta, along with her two children and husband Gregg Leakes. NENE LEAKES partners with TONY DOVOLANI.

JAMES MASLOW — James Maslow is best known as the star of the hit television series “Big Time Rush” and as a member of the worldwide bestselling music group of the same name. Maslow has headlined sold out tours across the globe, most recently the Big Time Rush Live 2014 World Tour, performing at some of the largest venues across North & South America. Maslow began his acting career on the popular series “iCarly” and completed the fourth season of “Big Time Rush” last year. As one of the most popular music groups internationally, Big Time Rush has won countless Kids’ Choice Awards, and a 2012 Parade Magazine poll named Big Time Rush the “Best Boy Band in the World,” topping other well-known bands such as One Direction and The Wanted. Maslow has collaborated with many popular recording artists, such as Jordin Sparks, Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic and with Snoop Dogg on Big Time Rush’s international, chart-topping hit single “Boyfriend.” Born in New York and raised in San Diego, Maslow began performing at an early age, training at the prestigious La Jolla Playhouse, San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts, and the Coronado School of the Arts. Her recent acting roles include appearances on “How I Met Your Mother” and “The Big Bang Theory.” DANICA MCKELLAR partners with VALENTIN CHMERKOVSKIY.

DIANA NYAD — 25 million people worldwide rooted for Diana Nyad last September as she approached the Florida shore, at long last achieving her 35-year-old dream of becoming the first person to swim from Cuba to Florida. Nyad is not one to quit. On her fifth attempt, speaking the words “Never Ever Give Up” to the wildly cheering crowd on a Key West beach on September 2, 2013, Nyad may have been dazed and physically spent, but she showed the world what persistence and belief can manifest. Nyad stroked the amazing 110.86 miles in 52 hours, 54 minutes, 18 seconds. Daring to reach for the stars, this swim beginning to seem impossible (after her four attempts and other strong swimmers trying and failing since 1950), Nyad has motivated the world at large to be bold, to live fearlessly, to chase one’s dreams with unwavering commitment. The second statement the victorious 64-year-old made on that Key West beach? “You’re never too old to chase your dreams.” And her third statement on that historic day: “It looks a solitary sport, but it’s a TEAM.” A prominent sports broadcaster, reporting for National Public Radio, Fox Sports, ABC’s Wide World of Sports, and The New York Times for thirty years, Nyad has carved her place as one of our compelling story-tellers. Reality Roundup February 2013

Reality Roundup February 2013

鼎宝福彩 Posted by Dustin on 02.24.2013 at 7:05 pm

鼎宝福彩So with the Oscars tonight, nothing is on but some cable shows I watch (Shameless, Walking Dead). I’m looking more and more towards covering more cable shows here as they don’t seem to be canceled as quickly. I did decide to pull together a little post covering some of the reality shows I’ve been watching, or flicking on, and my thoughts on them. Much as with current TV, I haven’t been feeling reality TV as of late!

RuPaul’s Drag Race
鼎宝福彩 I really enjoy “Drag Race,” but my current work schedule doesn’t get me home until it’s half over! So I miss all the fun drama. I could watch it on rerun, but so much is on Monday nights that I usually don’t bother. So far I just haven’t gotten into it this season, mostly because of time.

Face Off
Normally I really enjoy this show, but this season it seems like so many of the contestants are just down right bad! One guy won the first three challenges in a row, and I was beginning to think they should give him the trophy and call it quits. Really I think in the end the whole competition will come down to two of the guys (whose faces I can see, just not their names). Everyone else on the show kinda blows . . .

Project Runway
鼎宝福彩 I adored the Runway All Stars 2 that just aired, and I am HATING this season so far. The team aspect just killed it for me, along with the 90 minute format. I love “Project Runway,” but this 90 minutes is overkill! As for the teams, I think too many crapy designers got through only because of their teams, and the expense of others who shouldn’t have gone home honestly. Now they are in teams of 2, I’m sure eventually they’ll be on their own.

American Idol
鼎宝福彩 I don’t even know why this show is still on the air to be honest. I tried to watch some of the auditions and vegas and hollywood rounds. It’s just bad. Kill it! Take it off! How many people who have won this have really gone on to be superstars? Their first, Kelly Clarkson, is still the biggest. Second to her would be the country winner. Otherwise it’s people who come in 2nd, 3rd, 4th that make it! Please Fox, just end this show! It hogs too much of the week and airtime as is.

Dancing With The Stars
DWTS will reveal their new cast this week. Who can they get that they haven’t got yet? Unless they managed to score some huge stars, I’m seeing a lot of olympians, football stars, a washed up rocker and reality television stars. With Maxsim out this season, will the ladies even watch?

鼎宝福彩 Posted by Dustin on 07.27.2012 at 12:25 pm

I haven’t really been in love with DWTS for several seasons. I always try to watch, but more often than not I don’t feel drawn to anyone in the cast and lose interest. I had really high hopes that the “All-Stars” edition would change my mind. Normally it would have, most of these stars are amazing choices. However one never should have been asked back, and because of her I just don’t think I can watch the show. She never should have made it to the final three the first time, and something tells me she will again only because of the upcoming election.

Just some of my thoughts on some reality shows currently airing, or coming up soon!

Tonight is the Season 2 finale of “Face Off” on SyFy. I’m going to miss the show, but Season 3 is guaranteed. I don’t know who I want to win honestly. I think maybe Ian. I am sad that Sue got the boot last week. I like to cheer on the underdog . . . sometimes!

This week is also the first of a two part finale for “Project Runway All-Stars.” I am hoping Austin wins the whole she-band. I love Mondo, but sometimes his designes can be a bit out there. I’m sure we’ll be treated to a whole lot of Michael crying, and Kenley’s insane polka-dots!

“The Voice,” well honestly I haven’t been watching as of late. I’m sure I will get back into it. I just feel like during the blind rounds they passed over so many amazing singers, for ones who sometimes weren’t so amazing. After about an hour of the 2-hour shows I end up turning it off because my ears hurt and I keep wonder “What the hell were you thinking judge?”

鼎宝福彩I think I can safely say I’m done with “American Idol” for the season. Is anyone still watching? Every week I put it on, and turn it off quicker than “The Voice.” All those contestants and this bunch is who made it through? Some of these kids are just painful to listen to! Oh and can the show please just retire Whitney Houston songs? Randy tells them every year not to do them, and now they seem to want to do them even more!

鼎宝福彩“Dancing With The Stars” is coming up soon. I’m actually impressed with the line-up this year, they actually have more real stars than silly reality stars. Unfortunately for me, non of the real stars are anyone I care to tune in for. I’ll probably watch it when other shows are repeats . . . .

Dancing With The Stars: New Season Thoughts

Dancing With The Stars: New Season Thoughts

鼎宝福彩 Posted by Dustin on 09.20.2011 at 1:33 pm

So I did in fact sit through the entire two hours of “Dancing With The Stars” last night . . . mainly because with “90210” moved to Tuesdays, there was nothing else on I wanted to watch. We’ll see how long it takes for networks to move things around and conflict with it!

The show was okay. I did get bored often, and found myself not caring about some of the people. Carson Kresley I thought was hilarious, but obviously needs to step up his technique. Chynna Phillips and Ricki Lake were why I watched, and by far my favorites. I was glad to see Chaz Bono could actually dance, but the weight issue will keep him from going too far I think.

Others I didn’t know who they were, or didn’t care (Rob Kardashian!). I do hope that sports guy (Ron Artest? Or whatever his new name is) goes home. Not only was he horrible, but he was creepily leering and hanging onto his partner and the female cohost. Sports people tend to last though, because of their large fan bases.

Dancing With The (Reality) Stars: The Season 13 Cast

Dancing With The (Reality) Stars: The Season 13 Cast

鼎宝福彩Below is the release for the new cast of “Dancing With The (Reality) Stars.” I have grown tired of the show lately, only tuning in when I can (ie watching the first hour because something usually conflicts with the 2nd hour and the results show).

鼎宝福彩I am happy to see a few actual stars on the show. I’ll definately watch as long as Ricki Lake an Chynna Phillips last.

“Dancing with the Stars the Results Show” Premieres in Week One With the First Elimination, Tuesday, September 20

Macy’s “Stars of Dance” Returns; and New This Season, “AT&T Spotlight Performance”

A dynamic lineup of stars – including a U.S. veteran, an NBA champion, a film and TV star, a TV host and journalist, a Grammy-nominated singer, a supermodel, a reality TV star, a showbiz legacy and activist, and a World Cup star — will take the stage for the two-hour season premiere of “Dancing with the Stars,” MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 19 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

All 12 couples will dance for the first time on live national television on MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, either performing the Cha Cha Cha or The Viennese Waltz. Airing on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 20 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET.), a live, one-hour special, “Dancing with the Stars: Meet the Cast,” will feature the most exciting moments from Monday night’s performances, with commentary from the judges and never-before-seen footage from the teams’ first weeks of training. Then, on the season premiere of “Dancing with the Stars the Results Show,” TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER, 20 (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET), the couple with the lowest combined judges’ scores and public votes for their performance will be sent home in the season’s first elimination.

The 12 celebrities heading to the dance floor this season, as announced tonight on ABC’s “Bachelor Pad” by “Dancing with the Stars” hosts Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke in a live press conference sponsored by the September 16 film release, “I Don’t Know How She Does It,” are:

Dancing With The Stars Season 12 Cast

It’s no secret that I’ve found myself more and more disinterested in “Dancing With The Stars.” The past few seasons there have been more faux stars than real ones. Jennifer Grey was great last season, but at the same time the whole thing was tainted by she who shall not be named and stayed way too long!

鼎宝福彩The new season’s cast was announced tonight during “The Bachelor” and I feel fairly confident that unless there is NOTHING else on TV those night, I pretty much won’t be tuning in. I just don’t have an interest in any of these contestants, and frankly as usual only know who half of them even are.

Sugar Ray Leonard
Chelsea Kane
(Lil) Romeo
Ralph Macchio
Petra Nemcova
Kendra Wilkinson
Hines Ward
Mike Catherwood

Dancing With The Stars Season 11 Thoughts

Dancing With The Stars Season 11 Thoughts

Just some quick thoughts on the first week of “Dancing With The Stars.”

鼎宝福彩So far I am enjoying it. Because of Heroes and other shows that ended up on Monday nights, I was always torn. That and seeing the people I tuned in for sent home week one always turned me off the show. I feared that would happen this year too, but fortunately it didn’t.

For sure there are some clunkers. The Hoff was rightly sent home, he was horrible. I was surprised though as he is also popular. I thought he’d be there for awhile. I guess ABC made voting German proof 🙂

鼎宝福彩Michael Bolton and “The Situation” probably need to go next. Unfortunately “The Situation” I fear will be on the show for awhile just because “Jersey Shore” fans will rabidly vote for him.

鼎宝福彩Jennifer Grey of course seems to be the stand-out favorite right now, but that can always change! Her breakdown though was a tear jerker.

I was afraid Margaret Cho would be sent home after her first dance. She’s one of the main reasons I tuned in, so as usual I was expecting her to be axed. Hopefully she won’t pull the comedy schtick next week and do a serious dance. I don’t, however, expect her to win. But hey who knows. The girl that played Tracy Turnblad surprised everyone and made it to the finals!

The kid from the Disney Channel show I was afraid would be axed last night simply because I didn’t think he’d have the fan base to keep him. That has happened in the past with good dancers. No fan base to vote meant they went home when they deserved to stay over others.

鼎宝福彩Anyway, those are my thoughts!
