Army Wives: Humps

Army Wives: Humps

Posted by Dustin on 06.30.2008 at 1:23 pm

Betty received an insurance check this week and made the decision to rebuild the Hump Bar. Roxy thought this was a bad idea, thinking she needed to get well first. Betty said the Hump was her child, she had to do what she could to fix it. However she realized she couldn’t supervise it with her health, so she hired Roxy to supervise the rebuild while she concentrated on getting better.

Meanwhile Pam made the announcement about the Hump Bar on her show, and it caused a bit of controversy. A woman showed up to talk on air about why she felt the place should not be reopened, a memorial should instead be built there. Roxy heard this and stormed the station, telling the woman off, saying the place was a memorial already as it was historic . . . the first integrated bar in the area. She also said it was their friends and family who died there. The woman then let out a shocker, it was her brother who blew it up! She said she was only trying to do something good, to erase the shame their family felt.

The sister of the bomber later went to see Claudia Joy, but Michael couldn’t even look her in the face and asked her to leave. Claudia Joy felt that was cold of him, and it took a lot of courage for that woman to come here. Later Michael talked to the woman, saying there was nothing to forgive her for, but he could forgive her brother and he was sorry for her loss too.

This week Michael toyed with the idea of retiring, but decided by the end of the show not to. What got to him was having to sign the papers to ship off a girl to Iraq who had grown up with Amanda.

Over in Iraq, Trevor was shot by a guy, who was about to unleash bullets on an unsuspecting village market. Trevor shot him and saved many people. Roxy got the call, but was told he was fine. At the end of the show Trevor called home to talk to her and let her know that he was being sent home.

Joan was faced with having to tell her staff she was pregnant. She was afraid after years of working to gain their trust and support, they would for some reason see her in a different light. When she saw Roland talking with Emmalynn, she snapped at him, thinking how this could affect her job. She later apologized, saying she likes control and order in her life, which is why she likes the army. She also admitted her fears about telling her staff she was pregnant, she thought she’d seem weak. She also would have to stop regular PT training and join the pregnant women’s group, which she herself saw as women using pregnancy as an excuse to slouch off. Roland basically told her to show them up, rock that class and be the best.

Joan noticed how happy Roland had been lately. He was happy with the work he was doing with Emma and her friends, because for the first time in a long time he was excited about psychiatry again. He felt he was making a difference in people’s lives, getting to them before lifelong problems set in. He was considering applying for a job at a high school as a counselor, but said it would be much less money. She said do what made him happy.

鼎宝福彩Roland applied for a job at the school on base, but there were no openings. Later though they called him saying they needed a permanent substitute who would be responsible for English classes as well as some GT classes. Roland took the job.

Finally Denise still hadn’t ridden the bike Mac left her. She met up with another guy in the hospital garage who had a bike, and he encouraged her to give it a try and see if she liked it. She did, and she loved it. Frank however didn’t love it. When they talked he felt it was too dangerous, and it was not becoming of an officer’s wife. She said with her helmet on, nobody would know it was even her. She wouldn’t keep it if he was really against it. In a huff, he said she would do what she wanted and hung up on her! Later she told her friends about the bike and then driving it into work ran into the guy again. His name is Getty and he’s a doctor there.

Next Week
Trevor returns home a hero.
Trevor has trouble sleeping.
Roxy notices Trevor is not the same man.
鼎宝福彩 Roxy asks Trevor to talk to her, but he says he can’t.

Frank begins to wonder why this bike is so important to Denise.
Getty asks Denise out to breakfast.

My Thoughts
鼎宝福彩 Once again I kept hearing “me me me” coming from Joan’s mouth after she snapped at Roland for being friends with Michael’s daughter. Ugh! She did give some insight into this side of her, saying she liked the control and order the army gave her. Well she’s got a baby coming along, she’s about to lose all control and order! If this baby doesn’t change her, I will feel bad for that kid. At least he or she will have Roland for a parent. Speaking of Roland, I love the idea that he’ll be working at a high school with kids from now on.

Frank is another character irking me to no end. His attitude is going to push Denise out of his life and into that new doctor’s bed. The way he talked to her on the phone . . . and then hanging up and walking off? That was just disgusting. Hello he’s in Iraq and he’s pulling this on her? Who knows when they’ll talk again! Speaking of Denise and Frank . . . are we ever going to see their son again?

鼎宝福彩The twist with the woman protesting the rebuilding of the Hump Bar was a good one. I thought it was very big of Michael to tell her that he forgave her brother for what he did and was sorry for her loss. I don’t know if I could be that big of a person, or at least that soon.

Betty hiring Roxy to supervise the rebuilding of the Hump seems to be foreshadowing to me. If Betty doesn’t make it, I can see her leaving everything to Roxy in her will. Roxy last season wanted her own place, but soon had that dream shot down when she realized because of Trevor’s job they wouldn’t be settling down in one place.

Swingtown: Let’s Play Twister!

Swingtown: Let’s Play Twister!

Posted by Dustin on 06.29.2008 at 4:55 pm

In this episode of “Swingtown,” Susan and Bruce were preparing for their annual weekend trip to a family cabin with Roger and Janet. However Roger, knowing what Susan and Bruce had done with the Deckers, didn’t want to go and made Janet cancel. He claimed he wasn’t feeling well.

鼎宝福彩Susan and Bruce ended up inviting Trina and Tom at the last minute, and they accepted. Of course Janet soon saw Roger wasn’t feeling as bad as he had claimed, and she decided they should go to the cabin after all. They arrived just as the other four were about to take a group shower after swimming in the lake!

鼎宝福彩Janet and Roger decided to leave, but Susan insisted everyone stay, they’d make it work. Trina and Janet continued firing shots at each other as the night went on, and Susan noticed Roger was distant. Bruce finally told her that he had told Roger what they had done. She realized she had to talk to him. Susan served the brownies, which Trina laced with pot. Determined to show the Decker’s up, Janet had a pot brownie!

Roger and Susan had a talk and Susan tried to assure him they hadn’t changed. Susan says she was just trying to find what made her happy. When she asked if he was happy, he said “mostly.” Meanwhile Bruce, Trina, Tom and Janet ended up playing “Twister” and Janet was queen of the game. She then decided everyone should go skinny dipping, which they did.

鼎宝福彩The next morning Janet didn’t seem to remember much of what happened the night before. Per Susan’s suggestion, the guys slept in one room while the girls slept in the other. Both Janet and Roger as well as Tom and Trina decided to hit the road. However Roger and Janet stayed an extra day when Tom and Trina really had to go, because of Tom’s new job.

Back at home, BJ hung out with Ricky and Samantha. They broke into the Decker’s place to play in the pool, and Ricky got drunk on gin. Samantha began to tell BJ about the Deckers and what they do, but stopped.

Meanwhile Laurie made dinner for her teacher, who came over to talk to her about how they couldn’t be doing this. She felt he would only be her teacher for one more week. She told him the two of them worked together, and he knew that, which is why he had to go. After he left we saw Laurie’s old boyfriend watching from his car . . . realizing something is up.

鼎宝福彩I loved Janet in this episode, how she finally let loose and started having some fun. Unfortunately it was thanks to a pot brownie, and she doesn’t seem to remember anything she did the night before. I also can’t believe Janet hasn’t figured out what is going on between the Deckers and the Millers. She must know, she is just in denial and if she doesn’t say it then it’s not true. Meanwhile Roger I thought was about to burst and tell Susan he’s in love with her and been in love with her for years, but he didn’t. I think when Roger finally admits he loves Susan that Janet is going to go insane and have some crazy affair!

Over to the kids, the son and his two friends are still boring me to tears. The daughter’s story has gotten a bit interesting now that her old boyfriend has found out about her and the teach. I think he’ll either turn the teacher in to get him fired or attack him. Something about that ex irks me, he doesn’t seem very sane.

Cut or Be Cut

Cut or Be Cut

Posted by Dustin on 06.28.2008 at 9:12 pm

“Shear Genius” premiered this week on Bravo in its second season. To be honest, I was surprised when it got one. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed the first season, I just wasn’t expecting it at all. I didn’t think it did that well, as I thought I was the only one who watched it.

This week saw the introduction of the new contestants and their first challenge, to give clients a “cartoon” hairstyle based on a character they picked. Kudos to the people smart enough to pick “Jem!” Other contestants picked Marge Simpson (are you kidding me?), Betty Boop, Judy Jetson, Wilma Flintstone and Lucy (from Peanuts).

The guy who won did an incredible job with re-inventing Wilma’s hairdo on a girl. The loser picked (well ended up with) Lucy, and his hairdo was in fact awful. He also lost the quick cut challenge as well in the begining (which I thought was unfair, it was to cut hair blindfolded). He thought he was all that because he had Emmy nominations (for “Passions!”). Whatever, he was terrible, so he had to go.

I don’t really have a favorite yet so far, or know how the season will go. I have to say I’m excited because next week Tabitha returns as a guest judge. She was robbed of the win last season as far as I’m concerned.

Kathy Griffin’s Life On The D-List

Kathy Griffin’s Life On The D-List

鼎宝福彩 Posted by Dustin on 06.28.2008 at 9:04 pm

鼎宝福彩“Kathy Griffin’s My Life On The D-List” is a Bravo show I love, but it’s not the most easy to write about or discuss really. I mean it’s not something one can recap, and unless other’s watch it it’s not easy to discuss why it’s so outrageously funny. We’ve gotten up to the third episode this season. So what’s been going on?

Well the first episode surrounded Kathy’s Emmy win for a primetime reality show, her getting into trouble because of her acceptance speech, as well as her dating Apple Co-Founder Steve Whatshisname. Let me just say, mis-match! These two have nothing in common, and watching them is so funny.

The second episode dealt with Kathy’s assistants all getting celebrations and days in their honor in their hometown for, well being the most famous people in the town. Ironic because they are Kathy’s assistants! I guess since they are on TV, that makes them famous, in a way. Also Kathy has decided she needs a Grammy to go with her Emmy, so she recorded a CD to try and get a Grammy nomination.

The third episode dealt with Kathy going to Australia for Mardi Gras and meeting Oliva “Newter” John, Margaret Cho and Cyndi Lauper. This was my favorite episode so far as I love the Cho and the Lauper. Oh and yes I know I spelled Olivia’s name wrong, that was a pop-culture reference. Those who get it know what I’m talking about 🙂 Lance Bass showing up out of the blue was hilarious, I had no idea he and Kathy were such good friends.

So if anyone is watching, feel free to leave comments on your favorite moments so far.

We’ll get answers to questions like where the heroes powers came from and how they are connected.

Sylar will be a major character this season. He had been written out so much in season 2 because the actor was filming the new “Star Trek” movie.

Home, Finally

Home, Finally

鼎宝福彩 Posted by Dustin on 06.27.2008 at 10:03 pm

This week I went to visit a friend in Southern Virginia and see the sites, so this is why updates pretty much stopped after Tuesday. I thought I would be able to keep up with so few shows on, but walking around all day in hot weather in the upper 90s zapped me. I’ll add what updates I can this weekend.
